Easy to paint. Start with the drums, they're easier.
Just remember to sand and clean them WELL before you paint. If you paint over dirt, it ain't gonna stick. I'd sand them with a very coarse paper (or even wire) to get off major rust. Then sand with a finer paper. Wipe them down with a wet rag when you're done (to get the dust off), let them dry, and you're ready to paint. I'd put some tape over the wheel studs, and between the drum and the backplate so it doesn't get sticky, then just spray away!
I spent about a day doing my drums, cause I wanted to make sure I did a really good job sanding and cleaning. That was two summers ago, and they still look like brand new black.
Calipers are the same. They're just harder to sand because of the shape, and there's more to mask off while you spray.
