Flat out I think you're wrong. Trust me I know what a close gear box feels like, my other ride is a CBRF4. Supa fast shift in the GS-r from 1st to 2nd in a GS-r results in mismatched revs. Engine speed is way too high to match wheel speed (engine needs to spin down), in order to get a smooth fast shift you need to slip the clutch or wait till the revs drop. Shift fast and watch the tach, it get pulled down to dramatically. Try driving a ITR and you'll immediately notice the closer ratio between 1st and 2nd. ITR and GS-r share the same 1st gear ratio (3.230) while the 2nd gear for the ITR is 2.105 vs the GS-r at 1.900. Flat out the GS-r's ratio jump is way too large.
