Hey guys, i'm new to the forum and getting an LX-G Accord in March and was wondering what's the minimum size for Alloys on the 2003 accord, is 15 enough? also do i need winter tires or are the factory ones good enough for snow traction? To save some cash I was thinking of getting 15" alloys and putting the factory tires on them and getting snow tires for the steel rims. Is this a good idea? as far as i'm concerned I'm not worried about the performance of the factory tires, I don't race or anything. So anyways thanks and let me know what's best
If you live in a really snowy area and drive alot in snow, I would suggest winter tires. The all seasonals suck in the snow and they suck for performance in the dry. I have Blizzak MZ-01's and the winter performance is amazing...I can stop in 5-6 inches of snow and then accelerate off normally. I then put on Maximum Performance Bridgestone Potenza S-03's in the summer...not for racing(tires are too expensive to chirp and waste rubber), but for ride comfort, handling, acceleration, deceleration, and road feel. As far as 15" or 16", it's your choice. Obviously 16" is going to look alot better but will run you a couple hundred more. Why not try to pick up some 16" Honda Accord alloy wheels? Call around to the dealerships and see if they inherited any...sometimes people upgrade their stock 16" alloys to 17" or another design 16" from Honda, so the dealership gets em for free and can sell them to you for cheap. Also look on EBay...that's where I got my 16" 98-00 EX-V6 Coupe alloys for only $300 using the system described above. They list for like $900.
And welcome to HAN
