Stereotyping around my school is commonplace and it is very annoying. I usually go through a day with one or two ignorant people not calling me Chinese, or oriental, but Chinamen! I thought that calling someone oriental was archaic and stereotypical, but this topped them all.

Thing is, people can make all of the Asian stereotypes they want, while making stereotypes on Black is considered racism, meaning Asians are fair game and all of it is in 'good humour'.

We tried to enlighten people about the various cultures of Asia by making an Asian club and welcomed everybody. This went horribly awry and now the majourity of the school thinks our club is elitist and every non-Asian in there is a traitor.

So yea, I am disgruntled and pissed off...
