I do the same with all vehicles that I buy new. We had two GSR's before the RSXtypeS a 96 and a 99. No problems. We just trade in every 2.5 to 3 years or so. (leases) The VTEC is great especially when you put on an Intake. We regularly run the car up to 8100 RPM just below the overrev cutoff.
dude so let me get this. you dont have to break in a BRAND NEW car before you can rev it over 3k rpm??? cuz i heard from a lot of people that you shouldnt push it like the first 2-3k miles.
