Adjusting valves is easy, but a royal pain in the ass, and to be done with an ease really needs to people. Just get a manual to tell you what the intake and exhaust spacing should be, and the appropriate feeler gauge.

It took me about 45 minutes to do my car, it's easy, in theory, but the angles and the adjustments take time to get right.
