Honda/Acura does not seem to want to jump into the high-end luxury class with the likes of the LS/Q45 and such. This would require a huge investment for a V8 and RWD while the fuel economy and profit margins do not justify this. This is probably why they only reskinned the Legend and changed the name to RL back in 95 and have not done much with it since. Plus, I think Acura is not sure what they really want to do with the RL. The American market wants something that world-wide market probably can't justify with higher fuel costs, size, weight and emissions restrictions and therefore no V8 or RWD. Just my $.02. THX!
I doubt it'll have a larger V6...but I wouldn't count out an AWD system using IMA and a new i-VTEC or VTEC 3.5L V6. Honda wants a car that appeals to the luxury buyer that wants something larger than a TL but yet is still value filled...the RL outsells the Q45 five times over.
