thats the idea behind it. if youve ever gotten to look inside of an intake manifold you will see that each individual runner into the engine is of a different diameter and lenth horn. they do this so that the turbulance inside of the manifold creats an even amount of air going into each cyclinder. otherwise one cylynder would be doing the majority of the work while the one opposite it will do relatively nothing.
