Ahh, well thats it then I just remembered, that i was driving along and suddenly my check engine light came on, my spedometer started twitching violently, then stopped all together on 0... When i pulled into a gas station, i checked at where the cable goes into the tranny for my speedometer, and it was unplugged, plugged it back in, turned on the car, check engine light was off, and my speedometer worked like ive never even touched the transmission.. So if your speedometer "censor" i think is either the little metal thing on the end of your cable, or theres a big metal thing with a gear of sorts on the end of it, that might've busted too.. mine blew up when my tranny blew up a while back, glad the new one came with it.. but i hope some1 can answer my question on the thread "My tranny grinds!!"
