VTEC isn't the cure for cancer, especially on single overhead cam engines like yours. You'd be far better served either getting forced induction (turbocharger/supercharger) or a new engine. If you don't wanna spend that much (3 grand plus), get basic bolt ons...cold air intake, a header, and a cat back exhaust (catylitic converter to the tailpipes). That'll run you a grand or a little more if you buy quality stuff. Basically though, you have an Accord...a family car with a family engine.
There is no 220 HP H22A that came in a prelude(excluding Type-S). The only 220 HP Honda engine like that is the F20B, and I do not necessarily know if thats totally true.
