personally, i'd rather have better sound quality (alpine) than race cars and dolphins on my faceplate (pioneer, kenwood).
FINALLY!!!! Someone with the right frame of mind when it comes to car audio. The reason people started buying car stereos...FOR THEIR FRIGGEN EARS!!!! That's like buying a TV for your house because of how it sounds...nevermind the fact the picture looks like dookie...
Eclipse (the proper way it's spelled), I might be pissing you off but that's ok. Why? Because I am the kind of person who goes for car audio for the AUDIO aspect of it. You obviously are getting into it for your visual pleasures. Now if you knew anything about car audio and TRULY did research, you would NOT have bought a Pain-in-my-ear. Do some research on the TRUE facts of the radios. Alpine's pre-outs (the little wire thingies that you hook up to your amp), are rated at 4volts. Test them. They actually have a company average of 5.2 volts PER PREOUT! They call it 4 volt because 1. they are the company that invented 4 volt technology and 2. if they put 5.2 and a unit only did 4.7, well that'd be false advertising. Period! Now Pioneer (along with Kenwood, Panasonic, JVC, etc etc) claim to be 4 or 4.5 volt...well, that's because that's the TOTAL voltage you get from the radio...in other words (let me spell it out for the lil kiddies at home) the COMBINED voltage would be 4.5 volts. Still confused? That's 4.5 volts if you combined the voltage of all three preouts. 1.5 volts X 3 preouts...yup, that equals 4.5 volts. Let's advertise THAT! So anyhow...that's enough about that.
Now when I say usable features, the screen. Yup, that's useful! What about the EQ? Do you need an eq if you're running QUALITY stuff? Shouldn't on a basic system. You have more of a chance of blowing something if you alter the sound when you're not sure what you're doing. "That sounds better, crank the highs and bass!" Yup, gotta love the Disco curve on the EQ huh fella's? LOL! I remember going through the 7300 Pioneer radio and it dumbfounded me how many things you could do with that radio when you shouldn't have to do ANYTHING to make it sound good. Leave the EQ on flat, get quality equipment and be happy! But hey, listen to the dude who recommended Walmart stuff, because we all know Walmart sells Pioneer. And yes, you've guessed it. It's the same line as the rest of Pioneer. Don't think they get different stuff because they don't! Oh well, you be happy with your radio. It's your money, I hope you are pleased with your purchase. Now me? I'll stick with Nakamichi. Extremely clean and they look as simple as possible. I guess when you get older, you realize how retarded all this flash is.
Guess that's why some people like bling bling's when others have to have Mugen's........society is on it's downfall.
So my question is, how long til a moderator comes on here and gets mad at me for THIS post?
