how is an AEM/Injen/Iceman intake easier to install than a generic one? cuz it costs more? cuz it has instructions? intake install is relatively simple, just do a search and theres a grip of threads on how to. i have a generic CAI that i use for my nitrous setup and a AEM short ram that i use whenever streets are flooded when it rains or if its time for smog check. the AEM short ram actually fits worse that my generic CAI cuz the mounting piece doesnt line up right. as zidek said why pay hundreds for 3-4whp? an intake is an intake. pipe and filter can only be R&D'ed so many ways, they are all relatively the same just difference in materials and brand name and maybe a brand name one will net u 1-2whp more than a generic one will because it was mandrel bent and ceramic coated or has a k&n filter. why pay so much for so little (gains). if you live where you have you have emission laws like me then youll need one that is CARB approved.
