My car only started shaking recently. I was missing a hub centric ring out of my wheels, and it was up front, so i know that that can cause vibartion. I replace the missing ring ($2 fix). But that didn't fix it, but it helped a bit. THen i got new wheels and tires, put them on, the problem got 100 times worse! So i thought that maybe the balance of the new tires and wheels was off. I took my car to get the tires re-balanced, sure enough they were a little off. That was fixed. I then got an allignment, just incase the toe-in angle was off in the front, which again can cause vibration, nope, still had vibration. I get it mainly at high speeds, but i feel it all throughout from about 15mph on up, it just gets worse as you increase. It's a lot better now that i did everything, but it still does it. Funny thing is that my axles haven't been touched in about 6 months, and i only started having trouble in the past 2 months or so. I looked at my axles a few days ago when the car was on a lift, nothign wrong, no seals broken, seems to be just fine, no boots or joints bad. but the damn vibration is still there, and i can't figure it out. I have ruled out everything except for axles, but can't see anything wrong at all.
Is there something else i might be missing that can cause vibration? What about something to do with the steering rack>? I took out my power steering 2 years ago, never had any problems. BUt even if that was the case, i don't understand how just putting brand new tires on could make it worse, even when they are balanced. The tires are not out of round either, no defects, and the rims are perfect, no dents.
I'm lost, but i'm living with it lol
