ok, every one says to get their hands on a gsr bare block and swap a ls crank for the longer stroke for reliability and also the girdle for reliability. Right now I have a ls motor that I am using to makea lsvtec. I also have a blown gsr motor that I am using as a donor. Is it at all possible to transfer the vtec oiling components over to the ls block????? Im already having the girdle machined and dowelled for the block and I am using arp bolts and forged internals, and am getting the rotating assembly balanced. I just want to try to make everything as reliable as possible.
another thing that I am speculating is sleeving to 84mm, around 12:1 compression. Does anybody know about piston to head clearances on this particular setup. I have heard all sorts of similar set ups but noone ever mentions anything about having to have the head matched to the block or deshrouded to make room for the piston.
I know I am asking alot but this is going to make or break my decision on whether or not I go stock bore or 84mm bore.
any responses would be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance,
john
