OK granted in direct comparison no you can't compare them, but taking into account the vehicle it is going into and the weight as well as the common use of the vehicle I would say it is a very fair comparison.
Yeah the torque is different and the HP is mildly different but the parts availability for the B18 is much greater and because of that the price is much less for comparable parts.
The H22 in a hatch is a great swap...but only if you are planning on going in a straight line with the car on a very regular basis. Aside from that you get suspension issues in daily driving (front end is too heavy) and end up spending a grip of money trying to compensate for it.
I'm not trying to argue the point but it just seems that logic and reality puts a B18 or B16 into the hatch and the raw power straight line puts the H22 into it.
That was my point, I wasn't saying they were comparable on a straight across comparison.
