McCarthyism was many things but the basics of it was that it was a witch hunt for any member of "the red menace" (communism) and a way for the government to freely move about and monitor all it deemed neccesary without having to answer for its actions....kinda like whats happening now don't ya think?

Socialism is a collective government that stresses stresses equal growth amongst all people and is in some ways basically equated with a communist society (i.e. all are equal and gain equally regardless of output)

I do not understand the reasoning behind this question nor its relevance in any discussion I have had with you or any member of this board.

Generally my news source has been the BBC and other foreign news sources since US based writing tends to be extremely biased and is nothing short of irresponsible journalism.

Rush Limbaugh....hahaha don't make me laugh he is nothing more than a political puppet with nothing new nor original to say. Basically he recaps all that the state department would like to be said or heard....a general waste of my time.

The Civil War was basically a war regarding the maintenence of wealth among plantation owners who believed strongly in slavery. In abolishing slavery the economic standings of these people were put in jepordy because they would then have to pay those that provided free labor for them which would in turn cut into their profit margin and their power in the US would be diminished.

Totalitarian government is one that has total control of all aspects of life within its borders. Generally viewed as an "Iron Fisted" government with no responsibility to account for its actions in any way, shape or form.

My nationality is American but my heritage is Irish, Scot, American Indian, and Italian......what this has to do with anything I don't understand but whatever.

As for why my views are how they are is simple. My parents spent 15 years in the CIA in various capacities. The things I have read and learned both overseas and in the states gives me a different view of how things really are and not just the "American" view.

I spent 3 years in Pakistan, 2 in Afghanistan, 6 months in Japan and China, 8 months on the continent of Africa and various other countries around the world....my view is different and I tend to read between the lines of many printed articles. Call me a conspiritorialist if you like but I have my views and I see things how I see things.

Thanks for the questions beause they made me do some research in order to make sure I had the corret ideas about each of these items and from what I see I have been fairly accurate in my use of each of the terms and questions posed to me.
