No, but seriously, he said that every person he has serviced who came in with those tires has complained about outrageous road noise- how weird.

BTW, he wants to know what kind of wheels you have, because the tire size confused him for a 98 v6 coupe....
I dunno, but a guy with a Civic Si on tirerack was one of the ones saying how crappy the tire was. And he drove mostly highway miles, like I do.

I have 16" 98-00 Coupe EX-V6 wheels waiting in my garage. I was told 215/55 is the correct step up from 205/60/15.

So my question to him is, how does he claim to have more knowledge than people who have owned and driven these tires for a combined half million miles? The FM901 is the 2nd lowest rated tire in its class on TR.com. My old S-03's were alot quieter than the stock MXV4s, especially at speeds above 75 MPH. Not that I would know, of course However, in the cold (below 50 degrees) they are very noisy...probably due to the soft compound rubber. Well, here's what the guy in the Si said about those Dunlops...and there are at least 20 other reviewers that say about the same thing:

"these tires are horrible at any air pressure and any speed, but at highway speeds you feel like you''re railing every turn like you were in fred sanford's pickup truck! they wander, float, drift, and squirm. i tried to fiddle with the air pressure as one reviewer mentioned, and all it did was reduce my contact patch to the size of a nickle. (actually when you have a soft sidewall like this, jacking up your air pressure makes the sidewall squirm even worse, it does NOT stiffen it.) please do yourself a favor and stay away from these tires unless you botched up your suspension (ie: lowered the car and made the suspension so stiff you can't take it anymore!) and need to smooth out the ride. be warned, your car will have a scary ride when you try to take any sort of turn, but it will ride smoother. on second thought, just fix your suspension problems and stay away from these death donuts! yeah, like everyone else said, they're loud too! these tires are nothing but touring tires with a slick looking tread. "

About 40% of people seem to find them very nervous, loud and slow, 20% find them alright, and 40% find them really good. Compare this to about 80% with the S-03's that find them really good. It's just too much of a risk to take, that these Dunlops will suck on my car if they sucked on other cars. Especially since I drive so many highway miles. I've taken my S-03's to the limits on the highway and at the race track and I never questioned their capabilities. Not even while trying to keep up with a Ferrari at Watkins Glen.
