With the core (trade in old one) it cost me ~$65.00 for a new driver side axle at NAPA.

It is very possible to do the boot yourself. You just need the proper tool. HINT: Autozone has a ****ty tool, hahahaha.

HINT: You want to know how NOT to bust the lower ball joint boot? Look at this, you'll figure it out:
