PLus, whats this talk of supercharging? Supercharging hondas in my opinion is a waste of money. Your not going to see gains as big with a turbocharger. With a jrsc on a ls you are lucky to see 200whp.
ive been raised around draggers all my life, and they have always told me you want short ratio gears.they always said the faster you can get thru your powerband, the faster your car will go. im still being told that to this day. my boss and i were actually talking about this the other day when i walked him over to a tech who owns a 9 second car, and another tech with a 12 second daily driver, and they both said the closer the gears, the quicker it is in the trap. one of the techs had been racing for 25 years, the other for about 15. and if i remember correctly, when i dragged a professional drag car i banged thru every gear in the tranny. but i do understand about the more you shift, the higher your chance is to miss a gear. but drag cars have always been built for people who could properly bang thru the gears. i dont know how to say this without sounding condescending, but, drag teams dont stretch out gears because their driver might miss a gear.

look at top fuel cars-they have 2 gears in the box, but the faster their drive tires get spun, the closer their gear ratio becomes because the tires expand.
