Default What's up?

I talked to my insurance company today and they said they have to contact the lady's insurance to really do any more, but most likely it will be totalled. The KBB price is $1800-$2200 and the repairs are $2600 so it's pretty much set in stone, as far as I'm concerned. I discussed the modifications with my agent, he's a friend of the family and knew what I had invested, and he said the easiest thing for me to do is to take the totalled money (say $2000) and then keep the car. The insurance company will deduct whatever the salvage value of it is (say $500) and then give me the balance (number out of my ass).

I'm probably going to go ahead and do that. I'm going to yank the engine/ECU/radiator and I may swap them into the coupe or I just might sell them (I have a CM stage 3 and flywheel in there too). There a guy locally who I think is interested. I was actually taking him for a ride when I wrecked. Hopefully I can sell that whole unit along with the fluidyne for $4000-$4500 and then see if anybody's interested in the motorless shell for $1000-$1500 as is. The damage is mostly cosmetic and it does have a GS-R master cylinder, Si prop valve (4 wheel disks), GS-R front and rear disk, stainless lines, GS-R front sway bar and lower tie bar, GS-R rear LCA (ready for rear sway bar) and a Beaks re-enforcement kit for the rear subframe, GS-R steering rack and rear engine subframe. ES suspension bushings tapped for grease fittings all around and ES motor mount inserts and Intrax springs. Basically the chassis is almost race ready. New more aggressive pads and rotors, rebuild rear calipers (not nessicary but could probably use it), a Type R rear bar and a little TLC on the front and it's ready to race.

I've though about buying it back and just fixing it myself, but I think I'm done with it. I've turned just about every single bolt on that chassis. I've taken every piece of the suspension off and put it back on and I've changed the engine twice and done the clutch. I've pretty much learned everything I wanted or needed to know about that car. I'm thinking about shopping for a S13 240SX or maybe even a MKIII Supra. I really want something RWD and I've always like the older Supra's. I was looking earlier and found a few higher milage but turbo 5-speed models for around $4500-$6000. Sell the motor and shell and make it a fun new project. Seeya.
