- Music have proper "counts", pending how you count, you're looking at 32 beats before the next major element change. Practice counting.
- Grab the beat at the start of the count. Release when the track you're listening to hits its proper count. This way, when the tracks start developing, they do it at the same time.
- Stay away from the Sync button. See if you can figure out which song needs adjusting (+/-) tempo. (Sometimes the digital BPM readout fails, so this is good practce)
- Tracks are fairly user friendly now a days. Electro house sticks at 128bpm. Progressive house is 128 / 129. Dubstep is 140. You should be up and mixing in no-time.
I have been mixing with Virtual DJ, so I know the basics. Just the first time with a physical controller. I love how everything is between 128-130bpm, minus Skrillex....
