so better gearing, LSD, Friction coated internals, higher red line, higher compression, 20 hp more, blah blah blah isnt worth the 1300 to 1000$ ? i dont get it

Read my post. I said "if you're going to be building the thing." If you're going to be buying aftermarket cams, an LSD, etc etc etc, there's no real reason to buy those parts in not as good versions already installed in the R motor.
