I feel bad because I suggested the galaxy S tab to my friend that was going to grab an ipad2...long story short his samsung is garbage. Locks up all the time, glitches out about 4 times per day etc.

I'd go ipad, especially if it's medically/work related. Most of the medical schools I'm applying to make you buy an ipad upon enrollment. Medical charts, lectures, it works, etc. Go with what works consistently.
