Sliding with style is possible, but you will lose your entry speed in doing so. True drifting requires a RWD car and the purpose of drifting is to carry your entry speed through apex and and be line up for exit with the maximum force. Yes you can get a FWD car sideways, but aside from looking cool, the control, and speed is not there. With my old Z(83 280zx with a chevy 350 transplant) I played with drifting quite a bit, and it's a finesse of the throttle and keeping the tires spinning that gives drifting it's function, if it's not whipping hard enough you give it a bit more gas, too much drift you let off a bit, the whole while keeping the front end planted so you can steer trough it. I've had my accord sideways on more than one occasion, and it just doesn't cut it, there's no where near the control or speed through the corner. I've found the absolute best cornering I can do is giving it very light brakes through apex to shift the weight onto the front wheels, and giving it gas at the same time to pull through it.
