Could I do the timing belt at home or are special tools required? Two different people have mentioned to check the water pump. I've never heard of a water pump making this type of noise but I'll listen to any suggestions. Thanks for your reply!
You'd have to be able to take the crank pulley bolt off, and most people usually have trouble with that. Beyond that, you would need a jack, jackstands, a socket set, and basic hand tools.
