I've got them, but thought maybe I was on the wrong track since the changing out the distributor didn't work. Would 1 wire going out shut down the entire system and make the engine die?

I figured that if 1 wire went out, it would miss, but wouldn't keep the other three from firing. I mean, the thing completely stopped firing all at once. We going along at around 45mpg when it went and I told her to not press the clutch so that it might possible get the engine to fire, like a push start. Didn't happen...

So, you think wires might cause a shutdown on all 4 cylinders at once?
