Default Can you identify this part? Found it loose in my transmission...

This fell out of the pressure plate and clutch disc when I took them off today.

I was drag racing and doing J turns for about an hour...when I turned off the car and then tried to start it My 93 Civic EX wouldn't start. All I heard was a grinding. I assume the starter and flywheel. I haven't driven the car in the two days since it started grinding. It did finally engage and start eventually several times.

When I removed the starter that evening and tested it there were no problems. There are some marks and scoring around the flywheel and starter as though something had been stuck and scraping.

Today I was replacing my clutch when I found this piece of metal. Can anyone tell me what it is from? It's clearly sheared off of something on the long end. And there is no obvious place to me where it came from...

Any help or thoughts would be much appreciated.
