Point taken, but his rational makes 100% sense based on a lot of searches and reading of ALLOT of posts here,......and on other honda forums that have accord owners. Their really isn't much of a difference in what offsets work and don't work between the generations. The problem is this. You get people that will tell you,"yes 42mm offset works just fine with 215mm", to many of those people HAVE NOT qualified if their tire's clear throughout the suspension's ENTIRE range of travel. 42mm and 215mm is a risk, not matter what gen you have. 45mm is playing it safe.
BTW, on a 3rd gen, I can say from experience, you cannot run 215mm width's unless you have 45mm offset or you'll be rolling the rear fenders.
