OBD = On Board Diagnostics

Think of it as a "generation" of ECU. '92-'95 cars use OBD1, '96 or newer are OBD2.

If you have a '94 car you can get a '94 B16 ECU from a del Sol VTEC. If the car was not already wired for VTEC you'll have to add a couple of wires.
