OK I really need help here guys I posted another thread similar to this one and all I got was arguments and I need real answers please. Even performed a search and still no definite answers. I am wanting to go with a 17" rim on my 91 coupe. Should this be a 17x7 rim? Also what tire size will not throw my speedometer off in the least amount possible

Discount tire is telling me that a 38 offset will work on my car but I am planning on lowering it with a 1 to 2 finger gap between the fenders and tire and from time to time slamming it (I am getting coilovers please don't discuss the coilovers to get I already know from a previous post

I just need all the answers you can give me about rim size and offset with tire size I do not want the chance of rubbing at all, but I am having a very hard time finding 17's in a higher offset like 45, found a few in 40 and 42 would this be sufficient for what I will be doing with my car lowered and still not rub....Thanks so much guys in advance I know you all will be a great help~
P. s Please try to keep this discussion to only 4th genners as this is what I have
Thanks again
