New valve springs are generally stiffer to help prevent valve float with cams that generate more lift.

Titanium retainers are lighter than stock to help the motor rev up a bit quicker, and are stronger to cope with the stiffer valve springs.

5 angles instead of 3 when doing a valve job produces more finely curved seats.

Is there any overall goal you'd like to produce?
