343 Studios is taking full control of the series.

Fortunately / unfortunately, there will be a new Halo game every year, just like BattleField and COD. This fall's release will be an HD version of H1: Combat Evolved. Microsoft is playing it REALLY safe for the first attempt outside of Bungie.

Bungie totally fucked up with Reach, so I'm anxious to see if 343 can "fix it".
