How is that so lame? It wasn't hidden text in a contract. Each individual knows this when entering the program so if you dont like/agree with the policy (or any other policy of any particular university) THEN DONT FUCKING GO.
It's like going to work for a company and they insist you wear their uniform and one day you show up in street clothes....they fire you. Dont bitch about it when you knew what you had to do.
