This is a new policy in WV as well.

They will not go off like smoke alarms, there is a very high heat tolerance on these and they have to be intentionally spoofed to make them go off.

It won't help in home premiums, maybe $25 a year compared to if you have a FD close or not. On my insurance it would make no difference since my FD has a sub 5 minute response time and I have a fire hydrant within 100ft of my house.
