No matter what you still need to use common sense and watchout cause you can't get around instant-on laser, aircraft, and cops pacing you with a detector. That's why I reccomend the Bel 950, it's just like the 980 with a few less features and will save you $30, but peforms the same. For $200 the Bel 950 is the way to go.
I've been hit with laser from cops, at most, 5 times in my 3 years of having my V1. And 2+ I caught because of reflections off of other cars. There are no aircraft patrols in NYS. Cops pacing you requires common sense and constant checking of mirrors, that's all. Not brain surgery. Just have a sharp eye.
