Keeping a laptop or any other Li+ batter plugged in constantly wrecks the living hell out of the battery 9.5/10 times. Those batteries need to go through cycles.
If you do that for a while and unplug it for use on the go, your batter my last 1 hour as opposed to 6 or 7.
