What I just discovered last night is I can use front knuckles off an EXPO wagon (FWD version) and the DSM 5-lug hubs bolt in... as well as the huge AWD brakes, rotors, etc... but the kicker is the steering arm where the tie rod bolts up on the EXPO is on the same plane as the ball joint, so it eliminates bump steer. I needed to do more research because the front was just all kinds of out-of-wack and I couldn't wrap my brains around it.
I'm using Mustang caster/camber adjusters welded to a 1/4" aluminum plate for the upper strut mounts, cheap eBay coilover kits for a 1g AWD... and should be able to make fine adjustments to the suspension to maximize the grip under load. I'm debating adjustable struts since I need to replace them all anyway.
She's gonna be NASTY. I'm determined to finish it this winter. I blew up both the truck and the GSX this summer but they're fixed now so there's nothing holding me back.
