that doesnt look right to me, it looks like the bushing is not compressed much if at all...
Me thinks he's right. Either you crossthreaded the bolt on top, or you put the wrong nut on the wrong threads. I would take it back apart and make sure.

Try putting an impact wrench on it and turning it down. If the rod turns underneath, you have the threads screwed up. If the nut wont turn and the rod underneath wont either, it's tight.
