Gotta dig man. I found a huge diamond cave under my house near the very bottom. My castle area took about a week and a half, playing whenever I could. There's so many caves under my house, I've probably only explored like 1/3 of them.
The next project is the giant mountain to the west of my house. Going to turn that in to a fortress.
