The
Honda CR-Z hybrid isn't the CRX gloriously returned from the dead, but
it also isn't all that bad. Maybe what the car needs to attract some attention is a big, flashy 3D display in Times Square that takes up five blocks and where, as the press release says, "Maxim Magazine models will distribute copies of their special 3-D October issue and Honda will sponsor a special performance from chart-topping hip-hop trio, N.E.R.D." In fact, Honda's CR-Z advertising in NYC will be the "first-ever takeover of Times Square in 3-D technology." Where's the actual car in all of this? It'll be on site, apparently, but it'll be hard to see, what with the 3D ads and a big Sony display featuring 3-D Gran Turismo 5 racing drawing the eye. Sounds like a busy, busy, busy time. Any Bokononists in attendance will probably be proud. The fun kicks off tomorrow at 10 a.m. local time, with N.E.R.D.'s performance starting at 12:30 p.m.
Anyone who wants a less intense experience with the CR-Z can start by heading to a local Honda dealer, where the CR-Z starts at $19,200, plus $750 in destination and handling charges.
