Default USDM vs JDM vs REBUILD

So besides the fact that jdm has 10 extra horse power, are there really no difference at all between the two motors?

I've noticed that there are 2 sides... people who prefer rebuilds, and people who prefer JDM.

Is it really true that it's always best to keep the original matching vin number motor with your car than to replace with a completely different (yet the same) JDM motor? Is it really going to run just like a oem motor if i were to swap it with a different motor?

although this came from a person suggesting rebuilding, he believes that it can "confuse" the cars and not function as smoothly with a rebuilt, and spoke like a car is more than just a machine, and also puts more value on my vehicle... kind of weird but it kind of makes sense to me...

Person suggesting jdm swap said that even though rebuilt, a 180k mile motor (mine is 180k) will never run as well as a 30-40k mile motor... also makes sense to me.

I'd appreciate any non bias opinions as all these people had one thing in common...money! Were these people just trying to sell me for a chance to make money on my car? I wouldn't say they're trying to rip me off, but i know they are making a legit profit off me. What if i create a "frankenstein" motor and build my own block, but buy a similar, but rebuilt head to save time on the swap/rebuild... good thing about this is i will have either the head or the block to start learning.... which would be more adequate for a beginner anyways? the head or the block?

Thanks guys!
