Back from the Appleseed shoot. It was loads of fun. I didn't bother having my AQT targets scored because I clearly wasn't even close to the minimum to be qualified. I improved a lot on the standing position over the course of the weekend, but I sucked big time on the two rapid fire stages. I also sucked on the last stage because I am pretty much only effective out to 100 yards without a bipod. These were simulated AQT targets because we were shooting .22s on a 25 yard range.

I discovered that the sights on my Marlin sucked, with my bad eyesight (srsly need a new prescription) I didn't have enough resolution to see when the front post was lined up the rear semi-buckhorn sight because the notch was too small. My sighting in targets looked like I shot them with a shotgun. I ended up borrowing one of the instructor's 10/22 with a scope, I was then actually able to shoot groups. They said for us optically challenged folks, no shame in using some glass. But, in the end, it was quite enjoyable and I highly recommend attending a shoot if there's one in your area.

Cliffs: Appleseed shoot was loads of fun. I suck at shooting without a steady rest. Recommend going, just don't bring a bolt action .22, go with semi-auto with a detachable magazine (tube magazines can be used but I wouldn't, my sister and her boyfriend can attest to that). Use a scope if your eyes suck.
