goddammit

i went to go through his insurance but his information led me nowhere. i talked to the guy and he ends up telling me he lied; he has no insurance. so i'm like wtf. spent over an hour and a half talking to my insurance trying to figure out how to proceed.

GEICO (my peoples) are sending out an adjuster to check out the damage, make estimates and make formal records in case there are things that need to be done in the future. b/c GEICO needs to validate that the other guy in fact does not have insurance (which apparently takes some time), i have to use my own coverage and pay a $1000 deductible in the meantime. if it turns out that he doesn't have insurance then i'll get that money refunded back to me and have my deductibles waived.

what i'm gonna have to do is just talk w/ this guy and try to get him to pay the $1.2k upfront for the damages. by then all the repairs will be done, i won't have to pay, and if anything happens in the future GEICO will have the records to cover me even if he doesn't
