I can safely say all of the negative assumptions above are pretty much wrong
Duluth GA is a pretty good place
It's minutes from many central areas, from industrial, Business, to large shopping centers. It's local in North Metro Atlanta, a blooming area for businesses.
Though the city itself is "old", but the real estate is pretty nice and retain their prices better that the other suburb.
Weather-wise, it's similar to other Atlanta areas. I'm used to it so I can't say.
Night life in the ATL is pretty nice. Since you're only 20-30 mintues from Buckhead and midtown, a party city in the A, you won't be bored. Do not think it's the "southern thing with empty lands and farm", you're gravely mistaken.
The bad: Cops are pretty much DICK. There's no near by beaches. You can go to FL which range from 5hrs drive or more.
You don't have to live in Duluth. There are many other areas that's within 15-20 minute drive (Alpharetta, Norcross, Lawrenceville, Suwanee, Buford, etc.)
