So my crank needs to be replaced because I'm leaking oil out of my oil pump seal. I replaced the seal 4 times and looked everywhere until I finally put some oil leak detector in (the stuff that glows under black light). So I have a B18B1 with 100,000 miles on it sitting in my garage that I've decided to clean up and drop in.
Future plans: Ls vtec
Current plans: JDM ITR pistons in my Ls engine
Step One: The tare down
I needed to finish taking apart the block so I can take it to the machine shop to have some work done. Some pictures I took while taking it apart
Step Two: Machine shop

Well I took my block, crank, and pistons/rods to the shop where they are going to do a little bit of work until I can get the the rest of my parts.
Clean the block
Clean and polish the crank
Blueprint the block
Step Three: Pull out current engine (Wednesday-Thursday)
So I started to take things apart today. Only have the shift linkage, clutch line, and a few electrical connectors before I pull it out. I didn't take very many pictures.

Well I got the engine out and took it all apart today. Stopped taking pictures because my hands were so dirty.

So I only put 1,000 miles on this engine/pistons. Is it normal to have that much carbon build up? The outside ones weren't so bad.
Step Four: All machine shop work (1-2 week turn around) More like over a month...
Update: I ordered a couple of things
So the velocity stack is track only... I plan on rigging up an intake to go out my passenger side headlight. I'll post some pictures while I'm at the track, won't be till next month though.
