that's a sign of having 60k miles on your plugs. You're fine. Also depending on the year of your car you need to short a connector before you adjust the timing. I can't remember the name of it, maybe somebody can chime in.
Service connector, you just jump it with a piece of wire or a paper clip, it doesn't let the ecu advance timing so you are able to see the mechanical timing only with the light and get it set.
