Hmm well I guess I could attempt to fix it but honestly I was kinda just holding on to it because it worked decently enough. Not really sure I feel like pulling it apart to mess with the insides.

Otherwise it seems like Onkyo is the popular choice here and there are a couple competing options so I will look at those as well. But I'm not too worried about losing the HK remote, I've yet to lose a remote for anything and I have a logitech harmony that I use as my primary option.
