I know I'm going to catch hell for this, but in my mind, there is nothing inherently better about the s2k than a miata. Yes, more power, yes, looks cooler, but if you really care about the driving experience and not the image, a $2,000 miata with maybe $5,000 in upgrades will spank the s2k on the track for half the total price. You can say the s2k has better fit and finish, more technology, etc, but if you're interested in it purely from an enthusiast's perspective, that shouldn't matter. They have roughly the same handling potential (miata might have the edge in that department due to weight) and both have pretty much infinite power potential.
