respect is earned, not given simply because you're the president ... especially when almost half the population don't approve of your job so far and its only been six months ... doesnt sound like a great way to earn respect imo

that said
he should have been a little smarter in what he was doing, he should have known that it was goign to cause an issue but ya know what it was a heat of the moment thing. he apologized, time to move on.

i for one am glad to see a politician who is willing to share some emotion on tv and in congress with his peers. regardless if he was dem or republican or for or against my own views, im so tired of backpeddling, no answer, skirt the issue politicians with no emotion what so ever. at least he had the balls to stand up and say shit even if it was the wrong time and place.
