Insurance Tip:

Not sure what CT Insurance rules are but surface water damage and flood are NOT typically covered on a Homeowners/Renter's policy. Might want to check with your agent/company that you choose and see what kind of water damage IS covered. May need to look into flood policy?

Also, hurricane may or may not be covered as well. Don't want to take out a renter's policy for the purpose of water damage since youre living near the water, if it's not even covered.
